LoveladiesCottage sits in the middle of the block on a quiet dead-end street off the main drag. The lifeguarded beach is down the block to the east, Barnegat Bay is down the block to the west, and the deep water lagoon flowing west to the bay is out our back door. Fresh local seafood, restaurants, galleries, shops, and the Lighthouse State Park are to our north nearby in Barnegat Light and Viking Village, and the Loveladies Foundation for the Arts and Sciences is nearby to our south.
Out back, the deck and dock offer a secluded place by the lagoon to relax in the sun or under the shade of mature trees. The dock has a swim ladder, kayak ramp and secure boat mooring, making it ideal for swimming, boating, kayaking, stand-up paddle boards, fishing and crabbing, and easy access to the bay.
Loveladies is a residential community on the quiet north end of LBI. First developed in the 1950’s, it was home to fishermen and summer home to many teachers from the mainland. Those teachers had summers off, and when the school year ended they packed up their families, headed for the shore, and stayed ‘til fall.
Our home, LoveladiesCottage, is one of the original 1950’s summer places. It is updated but true to its roots, classic and relaxed.
The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, an outside shower and an open family-friendly floor plan. Set up with one king bed, one queen bed and two sets of bunkbeds, it is most comfortable for up to 4 adults with 4 children. Dogs are welcome, for an added fee.
Ours is a non-smoking house. Sorry, no jet skis, and no proms, weddings, reunions, parties. Rents weekly or for multi-week stays; no nightly, weekend, or seasonal rates.
